(…) Par des trajectoires différentes, Hendrik Hegray et Andrés Ramirez se rejoignent dans un pré carré sans sacralité, sans moralité et sans affectation, où l’art peut être un art de dégrader sans faire d’éclat. Dans de telles dispositions, l’esthétique du garage vaut celle de l’arrière-cour, de la maison de campagne ou de la Xerox. Avant même de produire ou de penser, une partie du travail est ébauchée dans le chemin qui sépare la ville de l’atelier, et une autre dans le choix de la B.O. qui accompagnera la journée. Les deux artistes se retrouvent aussi, et peut-être avant tout, dans un art de s’inventer une autonomie, d’être autodidacte dans la fabrication des œuvres ou dans la création des outils. (…) Undertaking different paths, Hendrik Hegray and Andrés Ramirez meet up in an unsacred, morality-free and unaffected preserve where art can be the art of de- grading without a fuss. With such provisions, garage aesthetic is similarly worth one of the backyard, the countryside house or the Xerox. Before even making or thinking, one part of the work is drafted in the journey separating the city from the workshop, and another in the choosing of a soundtrack which will go along with the day. The two artists also – and maybe above all – meet in an art of inventing their autonomy, of being self-taught in the making of artworks or in the creation of their tools.
